Battery hot press machine Product Overview
This large-format Hot & Cold Press Forming Machine is a high-capacity press system for flattening and thickness calibration of large-format soft pack (pouch) batteries and cells. After lamination and sealing, pouch cells often develop uneven thickness or surface irregularities. This machine applies controlled heat and pressure followed by cooling and setting to achieve consistent cell thickness and uniform appearance across large battery surfaces.
The system features a turntable design with two press stations:
Hot Pressing Station: Copper platen (500×500mm) applies heat up to 150°C and pressure (up to 10T) to soften and form the cell.
Cold Pressing Station: Steel platen (500×500mm) applies pressure to cool and set the cell, locking in the calibrated thickness
With its 500×500mm large platen area, 10T pressure capacity, and 40PPM high output, this machine is specifically designed for high-volume production of large-format pouch cells used in electric vehicles, energy storage systems, and other demanding applications.
Process Flow
Manual Loading: Operator places batteries onto the loading conveyor at the designated feed position.
Hot Pressing Station: Turntable indexes the battery to the hot pressing station. The copper platen applies heat (room temp to 150°C adjustable, ±5°C) and pressure (300-10000Kg adjustable) for a set time (0-999.9s), softening and forming the cell to a uniform thickness.
Cold Pressing Station: Turntable indexes the battery to the cold pressing station. The steel platen applies pressure (same range) to cool and set the cell, locking in the calibrated thickness.
Manual Unloading: Turntable indexes the finished cell to the unloading area for removal by the operator. The cycle repeats continuously.
