Pouch cell vacuum sealing Product Overview
The Vertical Vacuum Sealing Machine is a specialized piece of equipment for the final sealing (secondary sealing) of soft pack (pouch) lithium batteries. After electrolyte filling and initial sealing (primary sealing), the battery enters this machine for vacuum degassing and final sealing – a critical step that removes residual gases and ensures long-term battery performance and safety.
The machine features a vertical single-chamber design where the battery is manually placed in the chamber at the loading/unloading position. When the operator activates the dual-start buttons, the chamber automatically moves to the vacuum sealing station. The upper and lower chambers close, the cylinder press plate clamps the cell, a pre-vacuum is drawn, the gas bag is punctured to release gases, a vacuum holding phase ensures complete degassing, and the final heat seal is performed. The chamber then returns to the loading/unloading position for manual removal. This compact, bench-top design is ideal for R&D facilities, pilot production lines, and small-batch manufacturing.
Process Flow
Manual Loading: Operator places the battery into the open sealing chamber at the loading/unloading position.
- Dual-Start Activation: Operator presses both start buttons simultaneously to initiate the cycle
Chamber Movement: The chamber automatically moves to the vacuum sealing station.
Chamber Closing: Upper and lower chambers close to form an airtight environment.
Cell Clamping: Cylinder press plate clamps the cell to secure it during sealing.
Pre-Vacuum: Chamber is evacuated to a pre-set vacuum level.
Gas Bag Puncture: The gas bag is pierced to release internal gases and electrolyte vapors.
Vacuum Holding: Chamber maintains vacuum at ≤-0.095MPa for complete degassing.
Heat Sealing: The sealing head applies heat (up to 260°C) and pressure to seal the pouch edge.
Chamber Return: The chamber returns to the loading/unloading position.
Manual Unloading: Operator removes the finished sealed battery. The cycle repeats.
